Good News? Bad News? Not sure.

Today's Wall Street Journal reports Swiss drug maker (isn't that an appropriate phrase) Novartis is researching Chinese medicine in search for new products. They've stepped up with a $100 million R&D center in Shanghai.
Such research should lend additional credibility to so-called alternative medicine (and it this case, Eastern medicine) and its ability to treat maladies. It could result in such treatments becoming more available and offered at lower prices.
But, as is being discovered with the organic movement, multinational corporate involvement isn't necessarily a good thing. Companies like Novartis could alter harvesting practices and the areas where these indigenous products are grown.
Big Pharma involved in alternative medicine? Sounds interesting.
However, the informed consumer already knows how effective the products of nature can be in aiding wellness. That's why I'm proud that Good Cause Wellness products contain so many natural ingredients and have contributed to the wellness of so many people.
